How Does a Concrete Pumping Aid Work
As coal is being used less and less, the amount of available fly ash is also decreasing. This is not great news when you are a concrete pumper. Fly ash improves the cohesion in the mix and helps keep larger aggregates from catching against each other as the concrete goes through the pump.
Fortunately, Slick-Pak II can be added to the concrete truck and used as a pumping aid to improve the pumpability of the load. This powerful admixture suspends the aggregates in the concrete to reduce segregation and lower the risk of plugs.
