The air content of freshly batched concrete presents a variety of challenges for Ready-Mixed Drivers and concrete contractors. Once the concrete is in the truck, multiple factors contribute to significant fluctuations in the air content of the mix. That’s why Fritz-Pak developed our air entrainment additives to be added at the job site. This allows you the correct the mix and prevent the load from being rejected.
Shop NowAir entrainment additives, such as our Air Plus and Super Air Plus, create thousands of evenly dispersed air pockets throughout the mix. These air pockets provide the concrete with protection from freeze-thaw damage during the winter months. As water is absorbed by the concrete, it expands when it freezes. The air pockets created by the air entrainers allow the water to expand without cracking the concrete.
If you need just a slight correction in air content, we recommend our Air Plus. This admixture increases the air content by up to 1%. For jobs that require a greater adjustment, use Super Air Plus. Super Air Plus is the same powerful admixture as Air Plus, with twice the strength. Both air entrainment additives are made with a natural air entrainer to provide you with the absolute best results.
Order NowWhile it is more common for concrete loads to be too low on air, it is possible for your concrete to have too much air for the job specifications. When this happens, Fritz-Pak offers a powerful air detrainer, Air Minus, to help bring down the number of air pockets in your concrete. Typically, Air Minus is used to high-density mixes used for warehouse floors, radiation shielding, and nuclear plants. When using Air Minus, don’t forget to mix at a slower speed and let the load rest for at least five minutes after adding the admixture.
